Note on Applications for assistance:
Ordinarily although applications are accepted throughout the year we do almost all of our projects during the summer. Applications received after the 1st of May 2013 may be considered for the year they are submitted or held unless the following seasons housing season coordinate. This allows us to coordinate the time and efforts of our volunteers. Projects are approved on a needs basis. Not all approved applications are ultimately completed however because we do not always have volunteers with the necessary skills to complete complicated projects.
What we do:
The Cluster 13 Ministries Housing Program helps people in our local community with housing repairs & renovations like ramps for the wheelchair bound. We do many things from plumbing, to electrical, to roofs, to general house repairs. We rely on volunteer groups of local people and out of town mission groups and individuals to do the work.In these ways we help our neighbors with their basic shelter needs when they can not manage on their own as well as issues of handicap accessibility like bathrooms and kitchens. God was in our community last year with the services of 4 out of state mission groups who visited us and 3 local groups who also took time out for projects. Out of town & Out of state groups are provided with a place to sleep as well as shower & kitchen facilities. We are always looking for more groups to do more projects because of the never-ending need for this kind of work. Last summer we did several roofs as well as several projects that required minor repairs. We completed 27 projects in 2011 We are sure to have many this year too!
